Axholme Academy and Cut Ltd. from Scunthorpe have won the 2016 Into Film Award for Best Documentary (12 and under) with their politically charged film Hear Me Roar. William is equally enthralled and horrified by the idea of inspiring a generation of nihilistic teenagers. 'GY 'til I Die'

Nominated for Best Documentary (13 and over) - sponsored by Cove Pictures and Smuggler Three gifted young people from the Grimsby area are determined to make a difference in their much-maligned town, especially in the wake of ‘Skint’ by Channel 4. They are part of an apprenticeship programme, which sees a unique collaboration between sports and the arts in North East Lincolnshire. Click on the link to watch the film.

'Coz We Can' - Tribal

Cut were awarded a special 'Genre Commission' to make 6 documentaries. We were approached because we provide the assurances of professionally finished short films alongside quality outcomes for young people. We have a demonstrable track record in delivering high quality participatory filmmaking projects for young people aged 5 to 19. Meet Tribal, four ridiculously talented young musicians from the Humber Region, as they gear up for their first audition.

HeadStart Hull. Cut were asked to produce numerous films for HeadStart, including their final phase Big Lottery funding presentation film. Hull is one of only 12 areas in England to received funding from the Big Lottery Fund to develop a local ‘HeadStart’ project. The pilot aims to help young people aged between 10 and 14 cope with the pressures of modern life.

SMASH - S.I.M.I project
SMASH - S.I.M.I project

Cut are thrilled to be working with SMASH to create a new documentary for the See It Make It - Outreach project. Social Mediation and Self-Help, or SMASH for short, take referrals from schools to work with groups of young people on a restorative and peer to peer support basis. Feedback from the schools and families has been extremely positive and the young people’s confidence and self- esteem improving.
